Acceptor-Child friendly Syringes

Posted on timeDecember 9th, 2009 by userPrem

The sight of the syringe piercing their child’s tender skin is a sure heartbreaking experience for parents. The child on their part is also petrified at the same time! Not any more, here is some good news.

Two Indian product designers (Samarth and Bhavna) have come up with a solution which they plan to make it to the market soon. Their invention is to make the syringe look less scary. They have named their product, Acceptor.

They say that the Acceptor is a child-friendly syringe, one that would distract the kids’ attention and help them overcome the fear of taking injections. The syringes are brightly colored with attachments in different shapes like a butterfly, an aircraft or a juice-bottle, which will conceal the syringes.

The product is intended to hit the markets in the next 8 months. The inventors are in an agreement with an Indian company and talks are on with a Sweden-based hospital, Dandreyds Sjukhus, to make the products.

The price of the syringe has not been finalised, but it is estimated to cost around Rs 10 or around 25 Cents.
